Fourth Sector Consulting is a different kind of organization: we’re a for-benefit, which is an emerging hybrid organizational model at the intersection of the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. We pursue a social purpose while engaging in business activities; our success depends on the success of our clients, our employees, and our community. We believe this model has the potential to address many of the systemic challenges we are facing today.
In practice, this means we’re committed to being a transparent, socially responsible business. We treat our clients’ money as if it was our own. We invest in the health, wellness, and professional development of our employees, even (perhaps especially) in economic downturns. We are also deeply engaged in our communities, however we choose to define them. We serve on boards of directors, speak up at public meetings, and fully participate in the vibrant civic life that defines the Twin Cities region.
Our office also has great coffee and chocolate. We believe these to be essential to any for-benefit organization.
